There are just some foods that go together: peanut butter and jelly, peas and carrots, chips and hot sauce. When you eat food you are taking in calories. You can’t see calories, but you do see the results of calories. In the Christian life, there are two things that go together to help us burn spiritual calories: faith and good works. You can’t see faith, but you can see faith worked out in your life and in the lives of others. When you have faith in Christ you begin to burn those spiritual calories and it produces energy and you produce some results in and through your life by God’s enablement and His grace. How can I tell if my faith is working for me? How can I tell if I am taking in spiritual calories and I am burning them. What results are happening in my life?
